News: Gifts with Taste Grand Prize Winner
Jenny Dy, a 37 year old mom with 2 boys who lives in San Juan, Metro Manila is the grand prize winner of My Great Food Club's Gifts with Taste Recipe Contest. She dedicates her Magnolia Chicken Embutido with Figs and Nuts recipe entry to her late grandmother Teresa who taught her how to love cooking. Jenny says “Magnolia gives me the freshest Chicken, best for my Embutido, with just the right size. I love Monterey lean ground pork, it has less fat than market ground pork. And Purefoods sweet ham does not have that medicinal aftertaste common in ordinary cured ham. These three ingredients make up my dish." The Gifts with Taste recipe contest ran from September 1 - November 29, 2007. Six entries where chosen as finalists last December 6 for final judging at 3:00 in the afternoon with BFAD representative present to ensure contest mechanics where met.
   All six recipes where tested by San Miguel Pure Foods Culinary Center Chefs and prepared for tasting. Judges present where Arlene Arceo of Magnolia Marketing, Len Labarda of NGP PR Agency, Katherine Hernandez of Monterey Marketing, Joel Galareta of Magnolia Ice Cream RND, Mia Angela Alentajan and Jay Llige of Purefoods Hormel Marketing; and Chef Maricel Manalo, Culinary Services Manager. Jenny’s recipe was a common choice among the judges and Culinary Center Chefs. Try her winning recipe for your Family's Noche Buena this coming Christmas. |
